Salute to America at The Depot

The City of Kennesaw will host its annual pre-Independence Day celebration of freedom, music and fireworks on Friday, July 3 from 6 -10 pm in downtown Kennesaw. Admission is free. This year’s event will feature two stages of live music, festive street entertainment, food vendors, and kid’s activities. The evening will be capped off with a brilliant fireworks finale at 9:30 pm.

4th of July Fireworks Hike at Panola Mountain State Park in Stockbridge, GA

Slow down this July 4th and join a ranger for a leisurely stroll to the top of Panola Mountain. As the sun sets we will enjoy a panoramic view of Stone Mountain and Atlanta's Independence Day Celebrations from a distance. Bring water, bug spray, and a flashlight for the walk back down the mountain. Participants must register in advance. $10 plus $5 parking.

Parade registration deadline - 5pm July 2, 2015, because City Hall will be closed on Friday July 3, 2015. Fireworks will begin at dark, and can be viewed from the Arbor Place mall front parking lot or Walmart parking lot.

Join the Imaginators for a fun filled fire works Fourth of July Extravaganza. Make your own flag to wave in our Fourth of July Parade led by Jerry G. and his drums. After the parade, salute our country by singing a roaring rendition of the Star Spangled Banner followed by You’re a Grand Ole Flag. The program will conclude with a special indoor Imagination fireworks display that involves your feet and bubble wrap.

Join us for a campfire and s'mores, cool off during Water Games for Kids, or cast a line during Fishing 101. Start your weekend off right at our Campfire & S'mores Friday (4/3) night at 8:30. On Saturday (4/4) morning, learn the basics of paddling in our Paddling 101 Class at 9 AM. Cool off and make new friends in Water Games for Kids at 2 PM. Become a novice forester and learn how to identify some common trees in Leaves and Bark Hike at 5 PM. On Sunday (4/5), learn how to cast a line a catch a fish at Fishing 101 at 10 AM. Have a dog? Bring them to our patriotic Paws on the Falls hike at 1 PM. The most patriotic dressed dog will win a prize! Join the naturalist for an exciting game of Kids Tree Relay and learn more about trees at 3 PM.

The fun begins at 9 AM with the WBHF and Cartersville Optimist Club FOURTH OF JULY PARADE on Main Street in downtown Cartersville. After the parade STARS, STRIPES & CARTERSVILLE takes place at Dellinger Park from 10 AM-10 PM presented by Cartersville Optimist Club, City of Cartersville, and Superior Plumbing. Admission is $5.00 per vehicle.

Acworth July 4th Concert and Fireworks at Cauble Park

The celebration features live music by The Paul Hand Band starting at 5:30 pm and headliners FLASHBACK starting at 7 pm. At dark, watch as one of the largest fireworks shows in Cobb County takes place over Lake Acworth. Food and drinks will be available from vendors.

Decatur Pied Piper Parade July 4th Celebration

Join Decatur's July 4th Pied Piper Parade as it winds through downtown Decatur. Decorate your wagon, ride your bike, skate, or walk in this event. The City Commissioners will lead the parade in the mini-firetruck. Neighborhoods and organizations are encouraged to make floats and join the fun. Parade line-up is at the First Baptist Church of Decatur at 5:30 p.m. The parade begins at 6 p.m. It ends at the Community Bandstand on the square with a presentation of colors and the Star Spangled Banner.

July 4th Celebration on the Lawn

Downtown Powder Springs is the place to be on July 4th. The fun begins at 6 p.m. with live entertainment provided by the popular gospel quartet Zion, followed by one of Atlanta’s favorite local bands, The Men in Blues. Mayor Vaughn will lead the patriotic program at 9:15 p.m. followed by the talented Noelle Miller singing the national anthem. The festivities will end with a spectacular fireworks show. This event is free and open to the public. Games, inflatables, vendors, and food will also be available throughout the celebration.

Parade: Our HUGE parade kicks off the celebration at 10:00 am. The parade starts and ends at Woodstock Elementary School on Rope Mill Rd. It travels up Main St. to Towne Lake Pkwy, Mill St., Market St., Fowler St., Main St. and back to the school. Festival: After the parade, join us in The Park at City Center (101 Arnold Mill Rd.) until 3:00 pm for food, live music in the gazebo, children’s games, cake walk, arts and crafts, Adam the Juggler, and vendors of all types. Fun for young and old!
Legendary Fourth of July at Lenox Square

For over half a century, Lenox Square has celebrated Independence Day in grand tradition with patriotic activities for the entire family. This year’s activities will include the largest fireworks display in the Southeast, musical entertainment and food concessions. Everyone is invited to experience Atlanta’s time-honored tradition and celebrate as Lenox Square lights up the sky on the Fourth of July! Lenox Square shops and restaurants are open from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.* Musical entertainment begins at 6 p.m. with Gump Fiction, then at 7:30 p.m. Party on the Moon, Atlanta’s favorite party band, takes the stage. Fireworks are scheduled to begin at approximately 9:40 p.m.

Brain, The Inside Story at Fernbank Museum of Natural History

Discover the workings of the most complex and fascinating biological structure: the human brain. Explore how the brain controls our senses and emotions, powers our thinking, how the organ ages, and how technological advances may change our brains in the future. Highlights of the exhibition include interactive stations such as brain-teaser games, an engaging neuron gesture table that shows how brain cells connect and communicate with each other, and a glowing 8-foot tall model of the subcortical brain that illustrates how we process language and decision-making.

Cows that type? Chickens on strike?? Farmer Brown can’t believe his ears! Join the barnyard fun in this new adaptation of the award-winning children’s book. Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type won a 2001 Caldecott Honor and is on the National Education Association’s list of “Teachers' Top 100 Books for Children.” The book was also named on the School Library Journal’s list of the “Top 100 Picture Books of All Time.”
Back to School Movie Night at Acworth Sports Complex

The City of Acworth along the Acworth Business Association will be holding a FREE “Back to School Family Movie Night” on Friday, July 31. Come out to the football fields at the Acworth Sports Complex after a long week and watch The Goonies. This classic from 1985 sends a group of misfits on a journey to find a pirate’s ancient treasure to save their home from foreclosure. The gates will open at 7:00 p.m. and the movie will begin at dark. So bring out your lawn chairs, a blanket and cooler…a great night is guaranteed! Concessions will be available.
