Back to School Movie Night at Acworth Sports Complex

July 31

The City of Acworth along the Acworth Business Association will be holding a FREE “Back to School Family Movie Night” on Friday, July 31. Come out to the football fields at the Acworth Sports Complex after a long week and watch The Goonies. This classic from 1985 sends a group of misfits on a journey to find a pirate’s ancient treasure to save their home from foreclosure. The gates will open at 7:00 p.m. and the movie will begin at dark. So bring out your lawn chairs, a blanket and cooler…a great night is guaranteed! Concessions will be available.

August 1

How does electricity work? Kids learn all about electronic circuits in our Circuits with littleBits classes! In Circuits with littleBits classes, children ages 8-12 learn basic circuitry and incorporate electornic circuits into their creations. “littleBits” are color-coded “Bits modules” that snap together magnetically to make it easy to build simple circuits and inventive projects in seconds. Participation is $25 for Members, $30 for non-Members. Fee includes admission to the museum’s current exhibition for the participant and 1 adult.

The Secret Garden

The players of Serenbe will greet the summer season with the triumphant tale of Mary Lennox and her secret garden. The show will mark the debut of an English Garden sown specifically to immerse the performance and their audience completely within her Uncle’s endless estate.
